FOR ALL AESC registrants

You are NOT to come to the arena

(and will not be allowed in) if you are showing any cold / flu / covid signs that match possible Covid-19 symptoms.

Symptoms include: fever, chills, headache, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, new muscle aches, runny nose, loss of sense of smell or taste, fatigue, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea / vomiting. Less common symptoms: stuffy nose, pink eye, dizziness / confusion, abdominal pain, skin rashes or discoloration of fingers or toes.



When you register with the Armstrong Enderby Skating Club the SKATER is agreeing to
Skate Canada BC/YK Section Return to Skating Covid-19 Assumption of Risk agreement.


  •  Registration is online only.

  • PRE CanSkate and stage 1 skaters will not be accepted at this time.

  • Canskate program requirements: skater can stand freely and get up unassisted if they fall.

  • STAR Skate Parents, guardians and spectators will not be allowed in the arena due to facility restriction of 50 people which includes incoming and outgoing skaters, club personnel and rink staff. The only parent spectators allowed in the arena at this time are those with skaters under 9years old - NO siblings

  • Each session will have an allocated Covid Ambassador. Parents of skaters who are registered in any of our skating programs have the opportunity to volunteer for these shifts.- These shifts are a great opportunity for parents with those over the age of 9 to attend skating sessions.

  • PARENTS who may enter must print and sign the Skate Canada 'Assumption of Risk Waiver'  and bring to the arena if you wish to enter the building: The Covid Ambassador will be in a high visible vest they will check that the document is signed correctly and let you in.

  • Skaters are recommended to arrive at the rink with skates, guards and helmets already on. Due to social distancing protocols coaches and club personnel will not be able to assist skaters with tying their skates or putting on their helmets.

  • Skaters must complete a pre-screening Covid-19 questionnaire for each session. You must do this prior to arriving at the rink. If you respond "Yes" to any of the questions, please remain home.

  • AESC Skaters will only be allowed to enter the  NorVal arena by the 'players entrance' you cannot enter the arena until 15minuets prior to your session start time.

  • By entering the arena you are answering NO to all the Covid-19 health screening questions.

  • Covid ambassador reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone showing flu like sympotoms Parents must wait in the vehicle for a few minutes to make sure the screener allows the skater in the arena.

  • Skaters, Coaches & Volunteers MUST sanitize hands and wear a mask as you walk in the arena, while in the change room and as you are leaving the building. 

  • There will be a maximum of 25 people on the ice (skaters & coaches)

  • At the end of the sesson skaters will have 15 minutes to exit the arena through the same door as they entered.

  • When ice session is over skaters must leave the ice surface with physical distancing. 

  • Skaters must stay 2 meters apart in the dressing rooms and continue to wear their mask.

  • Limited numbers per dressing room (only 10 per room) this means some skaters will be in a different room.

  • If there is off-ice available, skaters must keep a 2  meter physical distance

  • Parents MUST pick skaters up on time or the skater will be standing outside alone. AESC is not responsible for your skater once the session is over.

  • There should be no congregating in groups in the parking lot.
